How's it goin' coach?

Actually, I have a couple of questions that I hope you can answer

First, I have a very high arch in my foot, so my 1st metataral goes up at a very high slope and makes a "bump" where the metatarsal and the bone after it meet (it's the tallest point of my foot), how does this affect my straight kick?

Also, I've been working on my angle kick and I'm having trouble holding the "V" swing, when I try to do it at medium speed, my leg tends to pop all the way out, I know I have to slow down, but then I don't know at what point I should extend my lower leg for that "explosion" effect (That's probably something I don't need to worry about at this point, but it would be nice to have it for future reference)

Thanks for the info, love the DvD, by the way, especially the science stuff, but I'll probably have more questions later on

thanks again,

Your "bump" shouldn't have any impact on the straight kick. Many players have it.

Yes, the old "lock out". My son has this habit as well.
Work on making your kick an actual STRIDE where you exaggerate your leg going through and landing on your shooting foot.
Yes, keep it slow and repeat it a LOT.
Eventually it will come. Old habits are to break.
Once you feel the lock out happening, slow it down and go back.
:)

I have a problem.

My technique is okay, shall we say sufficient at the moment, BUT only with a deecnt ball.

With a good padded properly inflated ball I can strike it cleanly. But as soon as i get a cheaper or harder ball at my feet and cannot strike the ball cleanly.

I normally point my foot outwards to contact the ball on the bottom but when i do this on a hard ball it doesnt feel like your really putting your foot through it. It feels like my foot is not strong enough and the power is not being transferred well. It doesnt feel clean.

The ball usually ends up either curling (anti clockwise from above im right footed) and not going high and simply dropping short. This is a serious problem when i have to take the goalkicks and corners with a harder ball.

Can you help me?

p.s. I will have a video up soon
p.s.2 (not the console!) I love your DVD =]
by the way you never replied to my above post about the rabona
