It really depends on what time you're talking about.
Day before, evening before, hours before, or after the game.
It will make a difference.
Lots of carbs both simple and complex leading up the games.
Within 2 hours of a game, not much will help.
Just lots of fluids.
Loading starts 24 - 48 hours before game time.
