For the people who wonder how young can a child be before he or she starts to play soccer, check this article out:

It is almost never to early to start playing soccer. Soccer is a sport that can be played by children and adults alike.

How does one get started playing and enjoying the game of soccer? Children may have friends who play or they may become interested while playing at recess or with other kids in the neighborhood.

Families can enjoy playing soccer together and there are many soccer fields in most cities. As children get a little older they can be part of a soccer team. There often different soccer teams and leagues that kids can play in through high school. Clinics and camps abound for those interested in honing their soccer skills.

Soccer is a sport that continues in college and it is played by both men and women. There are even soccer leagues for those who are older and still enjoy the game and want to keep playing.

All you need to start playing soccer is a ball and a place to play. This can be a back yard, a park or a soccer field. Many cities have indoor soccer facilities, too.

If you are interested in playing organized soccer you will be playing on a team that has 11 players on each side including a goalkeeper for each side. There are usually substitutes available for each team. The substitutes step in when players get tired or there is an injury.

With unorganized soccer there can be more or less players depending on how many people are available to participate. Smaller teams have become quite popular.

The main object of the game of soccer is to kick the ball between the goalposts of the opposition. It may sound simple but there is some real talent involved in the execution of the game.

Soccer is a great team sport and a wonderful way to stay or get fit. It’s a way for kids to learn how to function as part of a team and it is a good way to get some exercise.

I agree I started letting my son play soccer at the age of 3 and he has been playing ever since. I think that you should start early to give them a true understanding and desire to want to play.

Soccer is a great activity for young children and can create wonderful times- learning the game while having fun. Playing games in the back yard or park creates a great bonding experience for parent and child.  Here's hoping you will continure to have great times teaching your child this great game.
