Ok so your children are going to be learning news things which this is a time where it can become extremly hard to deal with when it comes to their mistake. You have to take your time with them and allow them to make mistakes because this is the way they will learn. Try to encourage them as much as you possibly can, encouragement will create progression.

I encourage them to do the right thing and fail instead of the wrong thing and succeed.

How do most adults and children learn? Trial and error. How many times did people try to build airplane and fail? If there were not mistakes attempted, then we would all still be walking everywhere. I tell my teams, "I would rather you try a shot or a new move and miss or mess up then to have never tried at all. If it works great! If not, then next time try something else, maybe that will work.":)

I often ask them all to tie their shoes.
Then I ask them how long it took them to learn that.
It can take years.
Now we want them them to learn over 200 thought processes in soccer.
Let them know it's ok to "tie the shoe wrong" in soccer as well.
It will come.

Good coaches are like good doctors. They treat each individual’s specific problem. You never see them walk into their waiting room and start throwing aspirins at everyone, every patient. They recognize each patient as a different specific problem. They will diagnose the problem and then make it right. Just the way a coach would do with a soccer player. Get to know your players!

I have learned just by watching my 3 year old nephew that he learns more from watching me play with him than if I try and teach him different aspects of the game.  Let them play and have fun while they soak in the game.
